10ams on Monday’s is pretty normal given flight time is around 2 some hrs, the 6 pm Friday’s suck though
ASAP. It's not going to get easier to leave it. Maybe you and your leaders can agree on a milestone that's a natural transition point, if leaving immediately isn't an option.
You’re absolutely right. I don’t want to leave, but I am also exploring outside options in the case that they won’t work with me to leave the project. Unfortunately having outside leverage sometimes lights the fire that’s necessary to make changes
Ok staying til 6 on Friday - that is BS. Goes against the 3/4/5 schedule firms moved to a number of years back
Really cuts into my life and being able to do a lot of things with my S/O and trying to make friends in a city I just moved to. Also, kind of hate the project itself - not aligned with my goals or what I want to do. The team is nice, but that doesn’t outweigh the negatives. How much time do I need to spend on this project before I get off of it?? How do I cope with being semi-miserable for whatever time you recommend??
Any advice how long I should try and stay on the project?
@A1 what is the 3/4/5 policy? Would love to know more about this so I can report the project to HR / compliance. We’re supposed to be onsite and from 8:30-6 3 days a week plus 8 hrs on Friday, plus travel day Monday. Its clearly over the 40 allocated hours for billing and I have such an issue with it. It’s impacting my personal life/relationship too
3/4/5 is 3 nights away, 4 days away, 5 days working.
