I burst into tears Friday as I said goodbye to the best TA ever! She is now a kindergarten teacher in another district. It took me an hour to get over it and I know the other teachers and admin thought I was crazy. Change happens. Friendly reminder folks- don’t work for Havas Health and You. They cut the freelancers hourly rates, again and made it so there’s no OT. The resource manager at HOV said if I couldn’t swing $80 an hour as an HCP copywriter, she’d have to find someone else. Good luck 👍🏻

I pay $500+/month for health care premium and after going to urgent care for an injury I still ended up with a bill that was over $500. Curious to know if any freelancers are not on a healthcare plan and how that affects your taxes for the year.

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?
