I’ve been in commercial property underwriting for 8 years, and people constantly say it’s “boring” or “soul-sucking.” But last year, I helped a small business rebuild after a fire, and they hugged me when the claim check came through. That moment felt more meaningful than any flashy tech job. Do you think we’re in an underrated industry that people just don’t understand, or are we maybe too close to see the downsides? How do you talk about your work to people who dismiss it?
