Does anyone have any companies within the Mining, Construction or similar fields that openly support and hire members of the LGBTQIA+ they would reccoment? I have been with my company for 6 years hoping it would get better over time...boy was I wrong. I have watched far too many under qualified individuals with poor work ethics, poor work output and poor attitudes be selected for promotions or positions I am more than qualified for far too long now. I feel very discriminated against, and alone.

I have 1.5 YOE in MC and was recently contacted about an opportunity for a data analyst role in private equity. I’m pretty clueless about the space, but comp is an 85% pay raise and the work generally sounds interesting. Has anyone exited to a similar role? What’s career growth like? I am in a long distance relationship with someone who is currently in B school. He spends pretty much all his breaks and holidays traveling with his classmates. Most of the time I am fine. But for some important holidays and my birthday, I told him we should spend time together. He just said it’s more important for him to bond with his classmates and ignore my ask. It’s really disappointing and I don’t know what else to tell him. Is that a reasonable ask or am I being dramatic?
