I struggle to keep my resume down to two pages. One would simply not work, because I have relevant project experience on it. Which is why ai feel there are quite a few exceptions to this rule, and one of them is people with more experience. How I see it is, if you have 5 years of work experience or less, then stick to 1 page. Anything over 5 years experience then 2 pages plus are fine.
Mine is 2 pages. More recent experience gets more space, more distant positions only get a bullet point or two. I’m hiring people and most resumes that come in are 2 pages long.
I think going into two pages can work, as long as the material requires it. But no one wants to read big blocks of text, and you have to remember that people, when first they lay eyes on it, will be skimming and scanning. So organization matters a lot.
Oh wow these are really handy tips, thank you for shaing this. I was always told that two pages was fine but no more than that. I don't know how anyone with over a decade of experience could keep it down to one page to be honest with you.
Having two pages is 100% acceptable if needed, but I would not go over that. And agree with above comment about the importance of how you organize it.
