For other Senior Managers, Directors and above, how do you stay on top managing your team, and also your understanding of your users? I rely on my team through the projects they work on, and the insights they arrive at through the research/design process. I rely on listening to sales calls now and then. I'm curious what other tactics you have to stay informed?

Could really use some kind words today. We had to say goodbye to our sweet girl on Saturday. She had severe pancreatitis and just couldn't bounce back. She was so sweet and affectionate, never met a person whose lap she didn't want to sit on. Feeling a lot of guilt that we should have tried harder before making the decision to put her to sleep. Maybe she could have bounced back if we had just waited. We miss her terribly. She loved us so much and I'm just really struggling today.

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?
