Does your workplace have any women’s events or holiday gatherings coming up? This time of year always seems to sneak up, and before you know it, everyone’s calendar is packed. My old team (all women!) used to host a “cookie swap” every December, and it turned into such a fun little tradition. It’s one of those simple things that really brings people together. Does your team have any fun traditions or plans coming up this season?

We do have a meeting next week that will be fall-season-inspired. Wear your favorite sweater or seasonal attire kind of thing. Small, but a fun little thing to do.

That sounds lovely! I love these little seasonal touches, and they make the office feel a bit more festive and relaxed!

Nothing women-specific. Not much of anything, actually, now that I think about it 🤣. We'll have our office party after the holidays and that's probably it.

Haha, fair enough 😄 Sometimes it feels like the “fun” stuff only really kicks in around the holidays anyway! At least there’s something to look forward to.

Because the group is so spread out, we do virtual coffee/tea session in the holidays.

I love the idea of a cookie swap. But my baking skills… should only be for family. (Aka ugly cookies, we go half-ies on the amount of sugar). Now if it is an ugly but good tasting cookie thing, that is up my alley.

New tradition unlocked: bypass the ugly sweater contests. Do ugly cookie baking !

We don’t have any women events, but that sounds like such a lovely idea! I didn’t even know it was a rhing

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

Once you've been accepted, can it be revoked if you decide to quit your job? Or to put it another way, barring acts of infamy/legality/stupidity, is there anything I could do that would endanger my acceptance once received?

I kind of want to spend some time with family and travel a bit before an mba and if I get notified in Dec, I'd like to use the time I have in between on myself. I'm fine with losing out on pay, I made some smart investments that money is not the primary issue.
