Ever feel like your career is fine on paper but dead in your gut? I’ve gotten good jobs, solid reviews, even recruiter outreach for great opportunities. And yet I feel like I’m living someone else’s life. I keep showing up, doing what I’m supposed to do, but none of it feels like mine. I don’t even know what I’d rather be doing, which somehow makes it worse. Anyone else go through this kind of career detachment? How did you find your way back?

Maybe stop saying yes to matters that are too small to justify our rates and staffing an expensive senior person on them when you’re already dying trying to get anything staffed. What are some great paying fields/position that are lesser known in the world of finance and are not crazy hard to lateral into? With around a year of experience in asset management/operations, I always try to think about what my career path will be and so far it has been ever changing.

Mental Health, inherited or choice? I am finding myself struggling with processing that ADD, Depression, or Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in the brain vs. behavioral therapy. The best analogy given to me is you would treat diabetics with insulin so why not consider prescriptions to help mental health. 2020 has thrown more at me than I’m able to handle. Has anyone here noticed a significant improvement after a prescription to help psych issues?

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

On Monday, a recruiter from EY told and emailed me me the tax team liked my resume and they’ll be scheduling an interview with me and they asked for my schedule. But they still haven’t gotten back to me. Should I be worried or is EY tech just slow with respect to recruiting?
