I have approx 4 years between PwC and Deloitte (federal tax mostly for partnerships) and I’ve finally decided public accounting isn’t for me. The hours are just too much (I have three kids). I don’t want to take a pay cut and I want less hours. I also don’t know what kind of jobs I should be looking for but I’m thinking in house taxes? I bought a house in the suburbs of Chicago at the top of the market. I ended up moving out of state in 2017 and short-selling. I am now interviewing for a VP Accounting role with the mortgage company that got shafted by the short sale. If I get the job offer, can they/will they see this on my credit report? Can they pull the offer due to this? Should I tell them before we advance further?
