Feeling stuck. I have no savings, don’t come from old money, and want to change careers badly. Taking on a $100k loan is daunting given the market right now. But I genuinely don’t think I can pull off working while studying because I’m struggling my my current role and I want to focus on studying.

Anyone still taking the risk of taking big loans with no savings to matriculate?

Q’s for hiring partners and recruiters - you know that most associates quit their managing attorneys and not the firm/case. I’m in that boat. What do I say to a prospective employer about the situation of why I want to jump ship?

Very brief background - I’m a senior associate who has been on one complex commercial litigation case for over a year. Over time, the relationships between attorneys on the case have deteriorated to the point that it is affecting my productivity/work. I want out.

I survived the cull and consider myself lucky for that.

I am short ES as of this evening. We are right up against a daily short level and I am using this 15 minute entry in the afterhours.

To all the post-9/11 veterans, it’s a somber day that unites us all in the reason we fought. Had a phone call last week with T15 adcom inquiring if they had additional merit funds. Adcom said she would pass my name to scholarship committee and would only hear back if I was granted more aid. She did say she would follow up with me as we got closer to deposit deadline (end of month). Should I email her for a follow up or schedule another phone call or just wait for her to follow up with me?

Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

Anyone know what merit based scholarship options HBS and Wharton have?

Assuming I get into CBS/Wharton, is there that much of a difference between them to forgo scholarship money?
