Is it normal for senior managers to ask you to cancel leaves or to nit apply leaves in EY GDS? My manager told in all hands meeting yesterday to not apply leaves during tear end. Won’t this become a hr issue?

GDS. Bizapps team. Every time that guy speaks in any meeting he shamelessly asks people to not apply leaves, asks managers to reject leave applications or if leaves are absolutely necessary(like when u are on deathbed maybe) then we are supposed to find someone to replace us, as in, bill in our absence. Oh and there is more! Managers call us and say “you take leave, go on your vacation but be online on teams and bill clients” unethical practices. And who the hell is going to work on the tasks we are supposed to work on those days? And what about client calls, how do I take them while I am trekking? Utter bs.
