Has anyone taken lessons at GolfTEC or a golf store (golf galaxy, pga superstore)? I typically play in the mid 80s but can’t get into the 70s. Looking for lessons to improve and get a little more consistent.
What do you think that the education system needs to do, to get young people to be better prepared with challenges in life? For example, I grew up in Malaysia, national secondary schools had home science lessons, where we learnt from ironing to cooking to carpentry to sewing to plumbing to soldering on a circuit board where we did individually or in teams. To me, these skills altogether prepped me with a lifelong ‘Swiss Army knife’! Anyone with children with ideas?
SO and I moved into a loft style apartment where the walls only go up about 80% of the way (there’s 2 ft gap between the wall and ceiling) this has made co working from home a nightmare, even getting a plate from the kitchen is perfectly audible from the bedroom. The place is awesome otherwise - any creative solutions from other fish in similar situations? Considering this a life lesson…
Any recommendations for driving lessons? If they speak Chinese, big plus. Want to get lessons as a gift for my gf. Queens or Brooklyn preferred, assuming manhattan not a safe option lol
It's finally happened. I can feel that I have given up. The breaking point? My CD making a big deal out of having a call on Saturday at 1 pm to look over a deck that was due this morning. I rearrange my schedule. I move my kids piano lesson. I stay up until 2 the night before making sure everything is in line. He never calls. Doesn't respond to my text. I send him the deck and he doesn't respond until Sunday afternoon. Then gets pissy when I say I can't hop on the phone at that exact moment.
Lesson learned: Wear yoga pants with no panties to get free shots from bartender while picking up takeout. Whiskey? Yes, please!
After 28 years of life and multiple degrees I've decided that the most valuable lesson I have learned is... righty tighty lefty loosey.
Are you finding it easy or challenging to translate your "in person" lessons to an online format?
QQ for any TTP users: what would you recommend as the most accelerated use of the portal? I have my GMAT in about 10 days. I've had access for half a month and I'm through ~20% problems. I've only targeted sections where I felt I needed the most improvement mainly focusing on chapter tests. If I haven't met the accuracy needed, I've then spent time on the lessons and usually hit the accuracy after. For additional context, aiming for Q47+. I was on a Q45 on a Veritas mock last week.
Hey fellow Disney Lovers, I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? I am trying to incorporate activities where my students get to choose their own clips for independent practice with these skills and need a variety to draw from.
Lesson plans. What do yours look like? I feel like it’s a waste of time to rewrite what I’m doing from the actual lessons. I mean aren’t the learning targets, success criteria, and formative and summarize assessments built right in?
Any tips to new freelancers? Lessons learned ? Or experience with Upwork ? Trying my hand at it and already have leads…
What sort of books do you remember the most from when you were in school? Was it the stories that resonated with you or the assignments/lessons around it?
TTP vs Magoosh for Verbal? I find Manhattan books to be too dry for me and need video lessons.
I’m glad I learned my lesson the first time (May drop) and started shaving profits on this latest run
Heading home from a fun agility lesson 😊😊
Anyone who bought a new construction home... What mistakes or lessons did you learn from it?
Does anyone run any side businesses/side hustles? Trying to find something for myself and looking for inspiration of your success stories! Also feel free to add lessons learned! Thanks :)
Considering switching jobs - looking for a non-consulting role in the DC area that pays ~120K. Currently a manager with several years of operational improvement experience in the Heathcare space. Any
I get interrupted a lot at work now that we are virtual. I don't feel like this happens to everyone else in my team as much, meaning folks tend to let them talk longer. So I've reduced my contribution and talk less. But then others make the same point I'm thinking and would normally have said. So now I just look like a silent non-contributor or someone who gets interrupted a lot. Office/team culture is generally good, respectful and peaceful. How do I change this? What can I do differently?
Should I stop depositing into my 401k?
Professionals that moved / transferred to NYC (let’s pretend normal times), is the work culture as intense as it seems? How is it compared to where you moved from?

Anyone interested in a Manager, External Reporting role with a growing technology company (recent IPO) in Manhattan? $125k + bonus with WFH flexibility. If so, DM me. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
So I just found out I'm pregnant and need to tell my employer eventually (it's still quite early). Since this is WFH, I can obviously keep this to myself for much longer. When is the appropriate time to tell my company? (I have a good relationship with them.)
