Creating in-house vs side hustle:

After years working in a particular vertical, I’ve developed a framework that allows me to quickly research, size, prioritize and produce inputs for organic growth. It’s different from anything I’ve directly on/done while working at any company, and I’m tempted to build an MVP with a freelancer but scared of my employer finding out, expecting me to building it in-house (taking ownership) /file any type of (legal) complaint against me. Recs/thoughts?

I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers. I would love to know if there is anyone that has done a similar pivot (whether it's recruiter, HR generalist, etc.) to a Comp Analyst and what that transition has been like.

Junior partner at a specialist boutique consulting firm (compete w/ MBB primarily in our verticals) with prior experience in PE on both deals and ops side, and corp dev. My career here is pretty stable and money is good enough without killing myself (500k+ cash) but I miss being an investor vs an advisor.

Is there any path back to GE/PE at this stage? My gut says no unless it's a firm where I have a client relationship and I get lucky but hard to broach the subject given dynamics. Any advice?
