It costs around 13k per annum
The ones I am seeing are all in the 25-40 range. Where did you find a 13K one? That sounds great
Don’t forget to check if you qualify for financial aid. A lot of the independent schools have it.
At what grade would you say its worth it? We’re at a very decent hh income (~500k), but it still feels painful
The earlier you enrol, generally the easier to get in (you can avoid things like the SSAT for grades 7 and up) - but there’s still some sort of assessment at lower grade levels.
If you’re thinking of pure financial ROI, there’s more networking opportunities the earlier the kid attends just from number of touch points. A number of people I attended my independent school with are clients now and I remember seeing my dad getting new clients amongst other parents that sent their kid to my school and met with them in the school parking lot.
200K+. It’s cost ~25K annually.
Also please indicate if you’re paying out of your income or family money.
I went to one. I think my dad's income was roughly 250k in early 2000s. Looking at sending my own and cant afford it with my income now
A little over 200k a year. Want him to go ti my alma mater but comparable schools are good too. 35-50k for domestic day students

My daughter is at a private Montessori that costs $26k a year. She has been there since kindergarten and our HHI has been at least $500k but we also have had Nannies on and off to help w the house work and pick up. We never went and bought a big/expensive home. Our home is very very modest for our income.
I went to one of the $$ private school for high school. and intend to send my daughter starting in grade 4. When I went there it was $20k/year and now it’s $43k.
Anyways the plan is to send my daughter in grade 4 but it’s still a lot to digest. Our HHI is now closer to $6-700k but we started saving late so have been playing a lot of catch up.
No help from either side in terms of family money (for house, school, or anything else).
Similar situation. No family help. HH 500K. Have 2 kids. The school fee and mortgage seem like one person’s salary.
I have a question as someone who does not have kids and attended public school myself - what’s the appeal of private school? I see some of my colleagues who went to private school and they are rather snobby. I don’t think they are smarter necessarily. One of my managers maybe his HHI is around the low 200s, and he sends his child to private school. Have public schools become that bad? Is it the network that is appealing?
