For my fellow ladies who wear makeup, how much makeup to wear for jury trials? My first trial (3 week in person jury trial) is set to go next month. I usually go for a natural look at work but was wondering if I should go for a heavier look for trial? I’m guessing we don’t need to go into stage makeup territory (lol)!

When you want to communicate directly to the jury, like during opening and closing arguments, I would make sure eyes and eyebrows are defined and visible across the room.

When putting on a witness, you might consider less noticeable makeup and attire so that the witness is the center of attention.

Agree with this. I’m not much of a make-up person, but if I was trying a case in Dallas I’d do significantly more than if I was trying a case in NYC. You don’t want your look to be distracting either way, so follow the norms of professional women in that community.

Enough to cover the circles under my eyes 😅

I do a full face (even out skin tone, concealer under eyes, fill in brows, add blush/bronzer for color, mascara to look awake), but I don't go full glam.

I try to keep from looking too young by avoiding pinks and shimmer/highlighter.

For the first time in my entire professional career, not only has my company not bothered to look at a calendar when planning things, but they scheduled a major meeting *on* Yom Kippur. Uhhh...I've worked a bunch of places and this has never been an issue. Lack of foresight or genuine not giving a shit about employees?
