Happy Independence Day! Sounds like a great time as a family. For my family, we used to have sparkler duels, something completely unsafe and completely fun. Now, with my kids, I stick to red, white, and blue popsicles and make themed snacks, and we watch fireworks from the city. What’s your go-to firework treat?

We grew up in NY and would drive to PA to get bigger fireworks than you can get in state. There were these mortar shells you could drop in cardboard tubes. We would rapidly light off several at a time for a better show. If we couldn’t get those then we would have a similar setup with pVC pipes stuck in the ground and hold Roman candles.
Happy 4th of July! I don't think there's anything unique about our celebrations. Growing up in Indiana, just about every family had a lake cottage to use in the summer, mine included. Every 4th everyone heads up to theirs to cookout by the lake and launch fireworks off the docks. Then at night, we'd all go out on pontoons to watch the fireworks show from the middle of the lake. I moved 5 years ago and can't make it back this year, which makes me a little sad and nostalgic. I don't miss a lot about Indiana, but those were core memories for me.
