I triple dipped earlier this summer for a week or two. It was crazy and I barely had time to pee, but my partner and I treated it like a game show and if we made it to the end we got a bunch of money. (We made it.)
Yup. (Have even triple dipped) Hoping it will happen again. Loved it
It’s not easy but the money is fantastic. If you’re going to try it, don’t assume you can do it forever. You can’t.
Be smart and self-aware, and have a plan to keep yourself accountable not only to your work, but to your own peace of mind.

Double dipping is manageable, but if you triple dip you better bring your crash helmet. 🪖
1.5 years?!? You’re an animal
I used to do it when jobs were there were more of them. I almost always regretted it though. Too stressful. Check back in with us in a month and let us know where you netted out. Some people love the money and don’t mind the nonstop work.
The biggest hurdle with double-dipping as a FT employee is you become a “company person”. If you need to travel or have internal emergency meetings, or are double-booked on a particular day/time for client meetings, that’s when those 2 roles come crashing together. With freelance you can manage that better, especially if you’re working remote, but then stability of continuous work/revenue is the other side to this coin. Always some trade-offs. Consider your role and ability to toggle the two FT roles.
Both are freelance, I just meant they were both 40 hours/week. I wouldn’t double dip if I was a staff FTE
I feel like they make you work for the 40 hours. Super tight turnarounds, multiple deliverables, briefs means higher stress than usual. Double that up, and you might lose sleep and hair. But lucky you got two offers dropping into your lap
