Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Why don’t you get on the phone with a platinion partner . If you’re a buyer I’m sure they’d love to talk … if you’re former Mck partner , someone you know knows one
A1 and SA1 are right. I don’t want to take a shot of my own (previous) medicine. Too much BS in this industry and this is a big thing, so if I call anybody, in this market, they will be on me like hyenas…
Platinion is a former brand of ours still in use in select markets (eg DACH) that comprises our enterprise IT folks (e.g., solution architects, cybersecurity)
They’re now integrated into BCG X (which is our umbrella for non-consulting tech pre oriented folk).
To the question behind the question, I’d say Platinion could be a part of what you need, but we’d typically bring in digital & tech advantage practice consultants (ideally experienced in yoursosss industry) and BCG X (formerly Gamma) roles as well as external vendors that we manage?
OP - I think you’re seeing this confusion because when we go to market, we completely blend ourselves (joint teams between TDA and X). I’m just remembering now that former Platinion were broken into TDA vs X in NAMR depending on their orientation and core skillset.
To your point, the way you can control for getting the right talent is to ask for staffing bios of the people that join and how they’ll be deployed. Obviously, you don’t want a SWE building the PMO deck

Platinion is IT consulting. Think IT strategy, enterprise architecture, core system transformation, etc. The common profiles are architects and IT consultants.
BCG X is comprised of engineers, data scientists, product, and design folks. They can do builds but also do other things where these skills are needed. E.g., recently saw a team work on a new SDLC op model alongside generalists and Platinion.
TDA is generalists consultants who like working on tech topics. You don’t just need tech for tech folks on these projects but also generalists (for PMO, value-sizing, diagnostics, etc.) who understand tech enough.
For context, I’ve led teams with all different permutations of the groups above. Typically the teams deployed are a mix.

Digital transformation is a fairly nebulous term in its own right. If you can be more specific about what you’re trying to do and in what geography (feel free to PM), I can potentially recommend folks or where to start.
What does digital transformation even mean? Why not be more specific?
