I want to get my masters in HR, but I also want to get my phr.. is it better to get one over the other? Or should I do both. Are there any masters hr program someone can recommend?

PHR first your Masters if you feel you can really learn more and it’s applicable. Also, find a company to pay for it once you’ve got your PHR. I’ve got both PHR and my Masters. Worth it long run but not easy.

like

Try your PHR or Shrm cp. Way less money and game changers. Also from the recruiting end when seeking hr peeps, I always look for these certifications and experience and never really paid more for those with masters

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture
