Don’t buy into the propaganda that you “shouldn’t look like a tourist.” Paris is FILLED with tourists, no one will be bothered that you are a tourist. I was there 3 years ago in July and it was very pleasant weather-wise, though I was coming from the desert. I wore lightweight shorts and tank tops and sundresses. You’ll be doing a ton of walking so definitely make sure you have comfortable walking shoes. Have a great time!
M/F? Paris is hot in July and a/c is not universal. You will get sweaty regardless of what you wear.
M in my 30s
If you’re a woman, a shirt dress and ballet flats. Natural makeup.
I would recommend slim fit chinos, linen pants, and tailored t-shirts/polos and Oxford or linen shirts. Don't wear the linen on linen, though - too beach.
Bring comfortable loafers and cool sneakers, as well as a light jacket.
They’re going to know that you’re a tourist regardless as there are many subtle (and not so subtle) hints that have nothing to do with what you wear. Don’t go crazy, but know that shorts and sweats are not common, so maybe just stay away from those. FYI this is the advice that my sister in law who has lived in Paris for years gives everyone.
paperboy hat, light scarf
