Had one of those days where the system kept freezing on me. Instead of just admitting the software was the issue, my manager was like, “must be your internet, go try it from the office.”

So I packed everything up, went all the way there and surprise, surprise, same issue, same errors. At that point I just sat there like, “yep, definitely my Wi-Fi’s fault.” 🙃

Why do managers always deflect instead of just saying, “yeah, the system’s messed up”?

Being at home introduces a lot of variables to connection, etc. It’s just a lot easier for them to say it’s a ‘you’ problem, instead of looking at services and whether they are up or not. If you have IT support, I always go to them first.

Totally, it’s the easiest excuse to throw out. Instead of checking if the service is actually down, it’s just quicker to blame the person on the other end.

Because many managers just want to put the blame on the agent, while insisting we follow the company’s so-called rules strictly by the book.

Right? Feels like they’re just looking for someone to pin it on while hiding behind “rules!

“Haha classic—blame the Wi-Fi instead of admitting the system’s broken. Managers love a good deflect.”

Haha exactly they’ll do anything but actually accept the mistake!
