Yep, always happens. The store just flips to total chaos out of nowhere, and it feels like some secret neighborhood plan. It's both weirdly energizing and exhausting, and higher pay for those rushes would make a world of difference in feeling valued but its never happening so lets not talk about things and get our hopes up.
Iam a barista i need job european country if you need iam your door .thanks
We have these ebbs and flows too. They're pretty predictable. Super busy 7-8 AM and 5-7 PM during the week, all day on the weekends.
They all decide to show up at like the last half hour before we close and take forever to leave!
If we want to complain about demand pricing (which I think we should resist), we also can’t ask for demand pay. Plus, it’s unpredictable. Like yes, we can see trends of our busy/peak hours, but one day you could get a bus tour on a normally slow hour, and another day, maybe theres a school event so less people show up in a peak time.

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean! It’s like one minute you’re twiddling your thumbs, and the next the place turns into rush hour chaos. For me, it’s usually around 3-4 PM. Totally agree..we should get some hazard pay for those “everyone shows up at once” hours!
