[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Yes. Didn't quit but was let go
OP, I was planning to quit but wasn't finding the time to look for a job. And then when I got let go, it made my job easier. I spent less than 2 months to find a job and yes I disclosed to the recruiter I was no longer in my position with the firm because of the layoff.
No, it's not my ideal role but I maintained my pay and an uptick in title so I took it. I'm planning to continue to keep looking
Do whatever you can to not quit before finding your next job. This includes doing a worse job at Deloitte in order to make time for interviews. You have to do what’s best for you, and you have much more leverage with potential employers if you’re still employed
I quit PwC a couple of months back - I found that most large tech companies don't care that I quit my previous job while startups do care and ask follow up questions. I would say it depends on where you plan on going next.
If you do want to quit -
1) apply to jobs online first to see the responses you get and the companies you get them from. This can help you make a more informed decision.
2) choose a correct time to leave. If you end up leaving in November it's highly unlikely you will get a job before Jan. Go through LinkedIn reports to see which periods have a uptick in hiring.
3) do some practise interviews before you quit. There is a greater sense of urgency to land another job if you don't have and the initial interviews can be rough.
4) have savings for your worst case scenario. Mine was 6 months so I made sure to have enough to allow me to live comfortably for 6 months
