Has anyone ever sacrificed their beliefs or values because they were afraid to lose their job? Because I think I did this this past weekend. While millions of people marched this past Saturday, I stayed home. After watching the chaos in LA, I was worried Saturday's protests would get out of control and my face would be somehow recognized and put my job in jeopardy. Now, I'm sitting here feeling like a coward who missed out on being a part of something important.

You shouldn't worry about it. Plenty of people showed up, so it's not like your presence would have changed the message any. I suspect your fears are baseless, at least I'd like to believe we still have the right to free speech. In any event, there will be more opportunities to have your voice be heard, so stay committed to what you believe and you'll have chances to participate.

There was a fatal shooting at a protest in my city, between two "peace keepers" who both thought they were defending the protesters. Absolutely tragic and horrific. So while I felt guilty for not going in the beginning, I was extremely glad I wasn't there. I understand your question is bigger than that right now, but I don't think being cautious is the same as being cowardly

You've got nothing to feel badly about. Not everyone can or is comfortable with protesting. Not wanting to lose your job or get assaulted doesn't make you a coward. And, sad as it is, I don't know that the protests were that impactful. No discredit to you, but I don't think your presence would've changed that.

Hi everyone! I have been in my current role as an EA at a financial institution for about a year and a half now. I would love to find a 100% remote role as a mid level EA at a company with an awesome work culture. I think I’m ready to be challenged again, I find myself bored in my current role… I’m open to any industry but would love to get into tech. If anyone knows of any openings I would really appreciate it! I’m located on the East coast currently. TIA
