I’m from the UK. Italy is amazing with young kids, very child friendly, great food and a lovely place to visit. You can’t go wrong with Tuscany
ChatGBT is actually really helpful for trip planning and specific questions like this.
We did this a few times before my son started school
Ten months is a terrific age because they are stroller happy and completely can go with whatever you want to do
We did Scotland at 10 months. Only issue there is many restaurants don’t allow children in after 6 or 8 due to liquors license.
We also did London and Paris with stroller age kid. We didn’t want to deal with car seats (Scotland needed but he was in bucket then) so we did all public transport cities.
With the kid in the stroller and a stash of baby food packets, Cheerios, diapers and some grocery store blueberries and shredded cheese you can still wander the city museums lunch linger over coffee and a glass of wine etc. you just don’t cover as much territory as you would without the kid. I’d always have some
Small toys to break out (when he was 2-3 he’d get a new small truck every day…which he thought was sooo exciting and cost me like 5 on Amazon before we left) We didn’t use screens at all. Highly recommend.
Thanks for your comment, it was helpful to read!
Did this often with our boys when they were this age, we lived in Switzerland at the time so travel was easier but we did Singapore and Australia from there too with them without issue.
Europe in general is very kid friendly. Italy especially to earlier posts. Would get stopped in Florence by someone to talk to them every 10 min. St. Regis there was great with them and all the restaurants we went to were very open with the kids.
Be aware that older cities make big strollers more difficult to manage, we had the yoyo stroller and smaller profile made it much better. Also the front carrier (ergo baby or something like that) while pushing the stroller made navigating much easier and just used stroller for midday naps.
Very helpful thank you!
We did Italy and Spain with our 1 yo
Glad we did it then because now we have two kids ages 2 and 4 and there's no way we'd go with them now. Nobody would get anything out of a very expensive trip 😁
