Don’t do this. Idk how many years you’ve been practicing, but you need to organically find a mentor who is good at business development. Or just ask more questions to attorneys you’re close. Don’t spend money on a coach

like

Agreed. As someone who generally is in favor of coaches for certain things, I think biz dev is the one area you should be leveraging internal resources first before seeking an external coach. Find a rainmaker in your group at your firm who is willing to teach you the ropes. That’s going to be the best ROI for your efforts.

What do you need a coach for

You don’t need an external coach. You need to get with a rainmaker in your firm to mentor you.

Haven’t used her but just went to one of her free sessions and it seemed great but she’s been a bit pushy about engagement ever since (who can blame her, that’s her job). When I looked at her intake form, it mentioned $7500-$15,000 “investment in advisory support” which seems INSANE but maybe I’m misunderstanding what that means.

Hello Folks,
Can you pls advise on which company to go for.
R-Systems : They are providing WFH + clarity on the project and team for which I’ll be working upon.
CTS : No clarity as of now, only thing I am aware is that I’m a part of full stack community.
HCL : Some clarity on the project but less package than other two.
R-Systems and CTS are giving same CTC.
YOE ~8
Skill set : . Net full stack + Angular + Azure

Thanks

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.
