Have there actually been any US layoffs? I have heard this should not happen til next month.

Hey everyone, I was recently laid off.. on November 3 actually. It’s a “temporary layoff” and I’m one of the 4 who got laid off. My return date is February 1st. Would you wait, and collect employment insurance (Canada) or start looking for a new job??

How easy is it to come across UX Writer & Content Designer entry level roles? The ones I find usually require a 2-3 year experience.
Finally got an offer for one in Washington, but I live in NY with my spouse. If I turn this one down, what is the chance that I come across another one again? Can I get referrals for anywhere else? Looking at the current layoffs in tech space, will turning this down be a risk?

I have not been on a project for over 3 months. Since I joined, I have been put in training. The training got extended by a month and now it's close to 4 months since I joined and without a project.

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. First 6 months, there would be flat 30% tax post which it will come down to ~20%.

I keep starting huge projects or hobbies and being intensely into it for about 10 days/2 weeks, after which I forget about it and the project just lays around my house for months until I get interested in it again or I toss it out/donate it. It was fine when I was living alone but my partner is seriously frustrated with how messy the house gets and how much I spend on supplies for these things.
