Getting laid off is not failure. It will happen to most people at some point in their career. You need your friends and support system to help you job search. Most jobs come from networking. Do not deny yourself that because of embarrassment. Good Luck
This is solid advice. I'd be stupid to miss out on a new opportunity to save face. Just hate giving people "bad news" especially about my own life.
Always told partner and sometimes told friends and family.
I was unemployed back in 2008-2009 for nine months. I told everyone and anyone who would listen to me and my story. You are not a failure. This is growth and no one will think any less of you. Vulnerability is tough - Take this time and lean into it, it will make you a better leader and person. Good luck to you on your journey!
