Have you ever been fired and the way it all went down just didn’t “feel” right. Did you ever wish you had recorded it?

I’ve been laid off from a remote job. 8am on a Monday and by the time the call ended, access to the server and emails were cut off. I felt devastated and drained because it was due to a merger and I didn’t think cuts would be made to the company that bought the other company. (I thought our side would be safe)
I’ve also been “fired” after already putting in my 2 weeks. They decided I was done four days after I gave notice. That didn’t bother me because the new salary would make up for the unpaid time off anyway.
I do not know where you live, but in MN that is ILLEGAL. They can walk you, but they have to pay you for the two weeks after you turn in your notice, WITH whatever benefits you have. I would contact my state attorney generals office just to make sure they are not doing that to others, like maybe with health issues, or ....
I could publish the foley of mistakes my former employer made in a mass layoff in just my case, they would pay me for the rest of my life to keep my mouth shut. From laying me off while on vacation, but technically I wasn't laid off, they just shut off everything so people were telling me that my email was bouncing back via text messages. the day I returned I could IM my boss and asked what was up and he denied knowing anything and I was to call the help desk, the help desk told me my H/R record looked fine and when I asked why they were looking at my H/R record and not at my permissions they hung up on me. They failed to make my first severance payment on time even though they had two months to set it up properly. They told me my cobra was due the first of the following month, but all bills were denied until they received and processed that Cobra payment, they recalculated my severance without any conversation with me and cut it off early in violation of the agreement, and the list goes on and on and on. Yes I contacted my Attorney General and yes I filed against them and now they are asking why I refuse to talk to them and why I ran to get an attorney. Ah um, I guess if it works for them then I do not matter and when I get an attorney then I am being the difficult one.... Oh well, onward and upward to better employment.
