Set boundaries. If there’s 10 things, you can only do 8. The manager can pick or you’ll pick if they refuse to. Something I like to remind people is most of us aren’t in the life saving business. If everything is urgent, nothing actually is. Some managers thrive on stressing people out and think this will increase productivity. It’s definitely the opposite though.
I had no boundaries years ago and it burnt me out. Even well intentioned managers can take advantage if you habitually always get it done—and not so well intentioned can do worse. Highly recommend therapy. In my case, it was long overdue and has changed how in interact with the world. And surprisingly enough…I get more respect now.

Have a discussion with them clearly setting boundaries

That’s a good idea, definitely works and hopefully they understand when you’re coming from. The trouble is when they don’t change because of what you said.

We always used to say if everything is urgent then nothing is actually urgent- I would have a conversation with your manager about a better way to have clear priorities, especially if there is only a few in your team
