Both are possible. If you start off in audit you should just go straight in FDD. There’s no point of doing FAAS first and then FDD unless you are a campus hire into FAAS.

OP. Both are possible but changing firms is always easier than Internal transfers. If you’re interested in either FAAS or FDD at EY happy to refer.
I wouldn’t consider which one is “easier” to join, rather consider your interests. Do you like analyzing mountains of data in a short period while advising your client, if yes FDD could be for you. If you like diving into complex accounting topics and advising clients on these topics, FAAS could be a better option.
I generally think transferring to either group can be equally difficult depending on hiring needs.
