Last year visited Budapest, Vienna and Prague.
Prague: it’s a joy to walk around the city. Beautiful streets and buildings. Only take uber or similar if far from the tourist attraction and then walk around. Must do: the Prague castle (many buildings there), Old town square and the Charles Bridge.
Budapest: most beautiful buildings are next to the river. Take the river cruise at night. And explore, explore by foot. Thermal baths: the most famous are kind of ran down but there is one close to the river that I highly recommend as is not crowded and in a beautiful building: Gellért Thermal Bath (gellertfurdo.hu) (https://maps.app.goo.gl/cKq2vjxrbEZRUApk7?g_st=ic)
Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Hofburg.
Here to second the Vienna ideas. Vienna is one of my favorite cities. Spend some time in the Altstadt wandering through the streets and avoiding the tourist things if you can.
If you can swing it, stay at the Almanac (there's also one in Prague but haven't been there). Might be the best place I've ever stayed at.
Kampa Park restaurant in Prague was fantastic with a beautiful view of the Charles Bridge.
Vienna - Hotel Sacher get a Sacher Torte, take a day trip on the hydrofoil boat to Bratislava.
Prague - if you have time go to Cesky Krumlov. Google it.
Budapest - get ready to live like a king. Money goes so far and everything is beautiful.
Great combination of cities. Enjoy.
Prague is a great walking city, just walk around aimlessly and take in the sights
Warsaw is a good city with a rebuilt Old Town and beautiful boulevards but if you’re looking for more architectural gems you may want to go with Krakow instead.
Krakow looks cool. But I am visiting family in Warsaw, otherwise I’d probably skip Poland on this trip.
Heading there mid September, following since I have never been!
Just returned from Vienna & Budapest.
Enjoyed them both but Vienna/Austria is clearly the stronger economy.
Wish we had done a live classical music event in Vienna. Heard opera at night just strolling around.
Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien is a must. So much good art. Would skip the Albertina if did it again. Would recommend Cafe Central for cafe experience. Walk & get lost.. so much to see and def a walking city.
Budapest, museum of fine arts is worth a visit, can have a good meal at Városliget Café afterwards and paddle boat on the lake.
Jewish history something to explore..
central market & Vaci u street are fun.
Oh me too looking for this
