Hello All. Need advice and guidance.

I am stepping into my first ever people management role which would include performance management, appraisals, leave approvals, goal setting etc.

I have only been in IC roles so far. I have a baby face, look way younger than my age and don't really "look like a manager". How to prepare for it? Any tips.

6.5 years of experience overall.

I have been in same position 1.5 years back. I made sure I set the expectations right with my team and track the progress of the team regularly.

Difficult part is to communicate on the numbers (hike and rating) but just remember it is our job and we are not here to please everyone and it will not be possible as well.

If your team members are facing or in a tough situation support them as much as possible, because you will not be successful as a manger unless your team performs.

Allocate some time in a week to manage the BAU activities like attendance management, access reviews etc.

Yes, remember everything goes by policy, if someone doesn't fulfil their duty, you have every right to point them. Be honest to your work, that is the only thing you have to follow.

You can control what is in your hands.

Think this consolidation period is going to end in the near term, primarily driven by:

2. Coinbase to offer staking for ETH in Q1 ‘21 - think how much will get locked up.

3. GME / stonks fallout - retail may moreso see the benefits of decentralization and crypto. Yes Coinbase is CEX to get you onboard, but DEX can’t be turned off.

Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.
