If you have cash that you want to invest. Please consider Treasury Series I Savings Bond (Electronic). Interest is 7.12% right now. While it's not guaranteed that the 7.12% will remain until next year, it's still a good deal.
My SO and I just invested 20k (10k max per person even married).

The advantage of the target date funds is that you don’t have to think about rebalancing. You’ll probably miss out on a little growth due to both higher expense ratios and the inclusion of bonds in the fund, but it’s probably not worth the hassle if you don’t want to have to think about it.
I think you would be fine either way. If you look at your fund it is basically 50 percent VTI 40 percent VXUS and 10 percent bonds, assuming you have a far off date. Just depends what you want. If no international, you don’t want the target date.

Does your plan offer VTI? My plan has terrible/limited options so target date is best option for me.

Or you could do robo advising as opposed to target date funds. I know it’s the less popular opinion but it’s the lesser evil in my opinion if you don’t want to think about rebalancing.

My spouse's IRA is 100% target date. I was able to convince them to pick a slightly later date fund to be a bit more aggressive but that is the right balance for them. They are happiest thinking about it just as an annual expense and not worrying about allocations or current values.
Mine is not but the overall performance so far is not all that different.
