Hello everyone.
I am in the process of applying for a new job, as a "Sales Coordinator" in senior living. I have 5 plus years working in senior living communities as an Admin. Assistant and a BA degree. On the application the employer wants my salary expectation. They have no salary posted for this position; Glassdoor is providing an estimate from $34K- $51K. I don't want to sell myself short nor over price myself out of consideration for the position . What are your suggestions?

A good general rule is to try to get the company to go first and give you a number. But if they're asking for a number on the application, just use your best judgment. From the estimate you cite, and considering your experience and credentials, you'd probably want to suggest something in the mid 40s. If they're being cagey about it they may intend to lowball people, but you've got experience which should put you above the bottom end of the range.

Got an offer for Sr. Financial Analyst for 85k & 10% annual bonus. What's a good counteroffer? I told the recruiter 95k-110k when I first interviewed. This position is 100% remote, headquartered in VA. I live in NYC. Have roughly 2 YOE.

Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

I’m currently in the process of being converted from contractor to permanent. In my initial conversations I was under the impression that I was in a different pay grade and asked for a salary 25k higher than the max allotted for my position. I feel like it gave the impression that I don’t know what I’m doing. Any suggestion how I can recover from this?

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…
