Hello Fishes,

I have total 6years 7months of experience, full tenure in Infosys.
I got my Technology Lead role change last week. My current package after my promotion stands 8.7 of which around 1.2 is variable.

Recently I got an offer from TCS with 12.5 lpa. But the position they are offering is IT Analyst.

Since I got my role change to TL already, will joining TCS in IT Analyst be a step down in my career? Suggestions please.

Keep TCS option for after 10 years of experience. Try other companies within your notice period. You might get till 16-18 LPA

like

Keep Tcs for later. Right now try for other organizations. Also aim for 100% hike as at your current designation, package and exp you will easily get 15+ in the current market

I was in same situation. I was working as a manager and handaling 2 teams in my previous org. In my current org am working as a team member and to be frank, its fine. I get time to improve my technical abilities and grow technically. So, if designation dosent matter to you much. Then, change ia good.

In hand salary of TCS will be much higher than Infosys. U ll be eligible for AST promotion after a year and will be increment will 15%
There is no designation like TL in TCS I personally saw people with 10+years with ASC designation working under ITA as team member. So it completely depends on project.

like

Its good if you are getting ITA. After 1 years you are eligible for promotion so it will be again a 14-15 percent hike. Your work will be similar if you are at ITA or AST. it doesn’t matter on designation.

Adding more to my post -

I felt I was literally underpaid till last March with a salary of 6.2. Then a couple of hikes and finally my role change took my salary package to 8.7. I got the TL promotion early (considering the average exp in which Infy gives TL promotion) because of my good ratings since the last 2 or 3 appraisal cycles.

Thanks!

My personal view is it doesn't matter much if the work what you are doing is the same. I have seen technology lead working as a team member and also working as lead in some project. Same for IT Analyst. I have seen few ITA leading team and some working as team member.

like

Designation doesn't matter. It is better to join TCS. Get some other offer of around 15 LPA and get ur package increased at TCS

like

Companies are fooling us in the name of promotion. Do you think 8.7L is worth for 6.7 years of experience. Infosys is offering 15L+ for 6 yoe laterals. Just move on . Don't worry about designations.

like

10.5L + 1 variable for 3yrs experience.

Are you from feb 2015 batch? 69-- ids ?

Ok so you are even more exp than me.
8.7 and TL is way too low... I am at 12.5 in Infy but at TA so my TL hike is still pending which will make my package around 14.

Just wanted to remind my fellow creatives that agencies need us more than we need them. It’s important to be respectful, but don’t be afraid to speak up, push back, ask for a raise, ask for time off or quit. The value we bring to the table is fundamental, very hard to replace and is often overlooked by us and leadership. Agencies everywhere are in overdrive mode and creatives are being overworked to keep the engine moving. Make sure you’re compensated properly for it.
