I am a high school educator in looking to switch careers into instructional design. I have been trying for nearly 2 years with no luck. I have had to create my curriculum from scratch for the past 4 years.

Do you all have any advice on how to transition successfully into instructional design?

I have an open position for an Instructional Designer/LMS Admin and am trying to create an activity to complete, as an assessment of skills, abilities and time management. Has anyone had success with something like this and can recommend an assignment that would not be too invasive and time consuming, but still produce and accurate depiction of sill level?

It would be most useful to hear total training hours produced. Would also be helpful to hear how many learners you serve and how many people are in your department, including any consultants that assist with content creation.
