Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Where are you located? Location plays a big part of how much you would ask for in negotiations because of cost of living.
SC currently. But I am under contract and the wording per contract is "national median pay of an electrical designer- after graduation" so location doesn't apply I believe.
The four years of design experience and the year of field experience should position you pretty well and put you in a good negotiating position. Assuming you're going for an electrical designer role in a medium COL area, you're probably looking at something like 85K to 100K. Obviously, that's going to vary depending on the size of the company, precise location, and any number of other factors.

Also will note that they have asked me to start doing PLC programming for the smaller projects.
