Hey there! I have noticed that some online communities for art teachers can get a little judgemental and hostile. Not here! Ask and share away and welcome!

Hostile and judgmental? We are the coolest and most chill folks in the school building. If you’re not having fun, you are not doing it right. 🥸

Has anyone received a green card sponsorship from a biglaw firm? I am lateraling into a V50 firm and have been told sponsorship is evaluated on a case by case basis. Wanted to see if anyone had experience with this, it doesn’t seem that easy to qualify under the EB-2 category.

What amount of money would you need to be offered from another company to leave (talk in terms of percentage increase in salary and include your level at the firm)? I’m passively looking and am curious what offer would be considered too good to pass up as an AY2.

Should you always negotiate? I never gave a range during the interview process, I had a TC # in my mind. Got an offer and TC was exactly what I would've asked for. I will take the job.

That said, is there any harm to negotiating for higher here? I don't have any data to back why I deserve a higher #, but feel it's a missed opportunity to just accept the first offer

I’m considering building up art history and research for the remotes... perhaps more in class as well.
