Hi all, for the first time in my professional career, I have the opportunity to discuss compensation with my manager. I have been in the current company for about 9 months and I would like a reasonable increase - like. 5-10% salary increase. I am spearheading current automation opportunities within the team as well. Hi there. What is considered a good salary for a project manager?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

During my interview process I clearly stated my salary expectations of 95k-105k. They came back with an offer at 80k. Is it even possible for us to come closer to a better agreement with them being so low? All other aspects of the job are in line with what I'm looking for, so I really want to make this work.
