I have got an offer from Ford as Deputy Manager of Analytics, Chennai and the final round (compensation discussion) is pending. My current CTC is 30 LPA and I have filled the expected CTC as 50 LPA in Ford's job form. I have all my B.tech. M.tech (Mechanical Eng) and Ph.D degrees (submitted Thesis in December) from a top IIT and 3 years experience at Mercedes-Benz R&D. I would like to know if my expectations are high? And what is the pay band for the offered role?

Has anyone here participated in the year long remote year program? My company is fully remote in the US and is in general supportive of me going but concerned about local and international tax liability. Remote year doesn’t share tax advice and our HR team is small. Curious to hear from people at companies who have done it before and if there were any issues from a tax or payroll perspective. It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
