So, I am a high performer and had to cover for two very senior roles for many months due to quick high turnover. We already had our talks. I found it funny when I was told, “oh and by the way… as you can see we increased your bonus to thank you for covering for so and so.” $500 increase………. Am I silly to think this “thank you” increase is a joke? No salary increase and only $500 thank you for covering for two additional jobs. Am I unreasonable to think the work I covered for wasn’t appreciated?

I am a director at KP, YOE consulting 12 years at 200K base 15% bonus: TD / RBC AVP, 160 - 170K Base 50% bonus + stock, etc. CPPIB D, 150 - 170K base 50% bonus CPPIB MD, 180 - 200K base 100% bonus (yes, 100%) Magna, MGR 175K base max SAKS Off 5th (US), D, 190K Base 15% bonus MLSE D, 140 - 160K, Kainos, architect, 190K base max. Just received a formal offer from Deloitte Consulting as a SC in Strategy & Analytics. Base is $125K, no sign-on bonus. This isn’t much of an increase from what I’m making now. If you got hired at the absolute bottom of the payband, I gave my salary expectations which was unknowingly less than my offer a few months back, is it possible to renegotiate a raise to at least the middle of the payband, come the performance review, raises, and bonus meeting, especially given inflation? In addition my firm’s new base payband for my position as an external higher is posted at 31% higher than my current salary.

Currently really enjoy the company I am working and although recently had a comp adjustment, salary is at mid 140k; but got another offer from a much much smaller consulting company for 175k current role: architect new role: manager, data management Bonus is relatively the same, although I suspect benefits are less.
