Can someone suggest if fixed pay is fair or low or high according to current standards. If it's low, how high should I quote to HR Bajaj Finance

I’ve made 2 lateral moves in big law (all 3 top 50 firms). I’m in a somewhat niche finance practice area, which may skew my perspective.
Ultimately, it is highly variable based on your current firm, prospective firm, your class year and the general market. One of my moves was a result of a practice group leader at a competing firm reaching out. The “interview” was an informal dinner and I was offered the job the next day. The second move was trickier. I was initially targeting 3 specific firms (all top 50) that I worked across from on a number of deals. One of the firms rejected me because they decided they were looking for a more junior associate. Another dragged their feet after my initial interviews (and told the recruiter they were interesting in hiring me, but it may be a long process (ostensibly bc of the internal approvals needed)). The third firm urgently needed help and offered me a job within days of my interview. $50k signing bonus and up to $15k in relocation expenses. I took the job despite having a preference for the other firm because they couldn’t give me an exact timeline.
Setting aside the above specifics, the trite lawyer response of “it depends” is apposite here—i.e. is your specialty in high demand right now or in an off cycle? (this is more relevant in finance roles (M&A, PE, bankruptcy, etc). What’s your class year? (mid-levels can lateral easier than juniors typically).
I’ve seen different firms handle it different ways. My advice is to be patient. You want to find the right fit so you’re not asking this question a year later (having to explain to future employers why you’re jumping jobs so quickly is typically viewed negatively, even if you have good reasons for switching firms). Finally, in terms of work-life balance, keep in mind that the quicker a firm moves, it’s more likely that they’re understaffed and overworked.
Started applying in December, offer in March, start date in June. Nyc biglaw to nyc biglaw
Started looking in August, and starting new gig at my first choice at the end of October. I was very transparent that I wanted to get the process wrapped up quickly, and I got lucky in that they wanted me as much as I wanted them.
