Hello, everyone! I'm applying to an LLM program in IP/IT Law in the United States, and I'm looking for work until then. I would forward to any advice you might have for me. Thank you so much.

There is a lot of "what ifs" here. Are you from the US or abroad? Have you already been accepted for the program or not? If so, when is the starting date? Are you already living at the city where the LLM is going to happen?

Thank you so much for your detailed answer. I am willing to work remotely to avoid any visa troubles until then. Doing an internship while doing my master’s sounds like a spectacular idea. The issue is I don’t think I can bear not working until August 2023 :(

Hi Fishes,

I have given my interview in HCL and cleared 1 TP, 1 hcl manager & Client TP and Client Manager rounds .
In initial screening HR told the generic statement of 30-40% and I have given my ask as 50% minimum. After clearing the rounds I heard from the project team that Client has given great feedback and wanted to take me in .
What is the % I can ask in HR Discussion and will they reject in HR if I ask more now .
I have 9.5 years total experience and role is Storage Architect.
Thanks

IP LAW

Hi - I’m a lawyer based in the UK, and looking to improve my IP law knowledge. Has anyone done the PGDip in IP Law at Oxford? Or can anyone give any suggestions on some good courses / resources? My background is in transactional, but improving my IP law knowledge would really help with my role.

Also posted in the Law bowl but thought I’d also ask the pros!

I am not sure just how many people are in this bowl but I feel like I just need to say this...I AM SO GRATEFUL AND HAPPY WITH MY DECISION TO PRACTICE IP! I am a newer attorney and I practice solely trademark law. I love it, my boss, my schedule and I am happy! I am seeing so many attorneys posting about burnout, stress, and hating their jobs in the other bowls and I just needed to shout it out to the universe that I think we made the right decision with IP.

Is it a viable business opportunity for a mid level patent litigation associate to leave BigLaw and consult? Service could include pre-litigation diligence (e.g., pre-litigation infringement analysis) for funding companies and law firms, overflow work, consulting for patent prosecution firms that take on ipr or litigation work, litigation consulting for tech companies that don’t have in-house counsel.
