Could anyone kindly tell me about the Investment Management and Private Equity Audit Group at Deloitte? 1. Work Life Balance (Is it worst than the ordinary Big 4 WLB?) 2. Is it an entirely different audit from commercial/retail audits (think account balances etc.) 3. Difficult to learn how to audit clients in this industry without prior experience in the industry?(been doing commercial audits for 3 years) 4. Are there relatively good exit opportunities for this audit group? Deloitte PwC EY

I love when people ask me about my favorite deal
Attorneys love talking about themselves, plus it’s a good way to figure out what the work is really like in a more subtle way
Ask how the teams are working together and how they expect you to fit in. Ask both associates and partners about partnership and career question - partners might be a bit removed on what is going on.
Ask about the culture of the department, how the files are staffed (so you get a sense of how much you will be working with a partner directly / with a more senior associate in between) and if the interviewer came from another firm previously, ask what made him/her choose to join the firm
Partners - ask questions about mentorship of junior level associates - their partnership track - expectations from day 1, etc
associates - ask about work life balance - typical days - honest opinion on the partners - etc.
A5: Agree on the work-life balance. Also upcoming holidays. Honest opinion on the partners will be unlikely
“How often do you cry at your desk?”
Or want to crawl under it?
Make sure to ask specific questions about the role you will fill, including why it is open (new business or attorney left). If someone left, do some research post-interview to figure out why.
Also: Not a question but explain anything that is unusual about your CV or why you have chosen to do something. It is helpful to make a picture of the interviewee.
I agree that this might be helpful, but don’t assume that they’ve read your CV thoroughly. I skim for anything interesting, but would probably be very confused if someone launched into an unprompted explanation of some detail of their resume that I hadn’t even noticed.
