Hi All!
Would love to connect with some folks in the Construction/Owner Rep industry. I've been involved as an Owner Rep and have some capacity freeing up after the New Year. From major residential projects, to smaller, renovation/reconstruction projects, I have a long history of working for Clients, particularly UHNW on a wide array of work, all over the world. I have some capacity freeing up after the New Year and would love to discuss any opportunities. Thanks in advance, and HNY!"

Help me ask for a raise in my upcoming performance review? In sum, my company’s HQ is in Texas and I feel I’m being paid a Texas wage when I live in Los Angeles (the role is remote). We do have a San Francisco office and I want to ask my boss to match me what staff are making there. As that’s more comparable. Based off of Glassdoor, my salary matches Texas’s exactly and SF has the same role at 10k more. Should I show him the Glassdoor page? Don’t want to come off too strong. Please advise

Recently joined the firm as a project delivery specialist. During recruiting, the team harped on how great my background was and how much a good fit I would be for the firm/project...

Well, I was on an onboarding call and they were talking about staffing and projects. The presenter said to reach out to them if you don’t think your project is a good fit. In his words “you were hired into the firm, not a specific project. We see you here long term... With the exception of PDM model” 😅

There’s a practice group that I’ve been trying to find work in but whenever I volunteer to help, I always get roped in to do non billable work. In the beginning it was fine but now I’m feeling it’s never going to amount to actual work. Any tips to get more involved without all the non billables and how to approach this gently?

Looking to change up my MO when it comes to organization. Litigator Hive Mind, how do you guys keep yourselves organized? Do you have a particular system? Looking for more tactile methods (post its, whiteboards, journals, etc.). The whole outlook calendar thing (while necessary) gets very cluttered very quickly and I don’t find it really advances the ball for me much.

If your firm is asking summers to make those cringey self-aggrandizing acceptance posts on LinkedIn. Can you kindly ask they stop immediately?

I am a salesforce developer, I want to do salesforce admin stuff on the side. Its usually super easy and I could probably do like 10 hours a week of work. But idk how to find some business to hire me for like 40 hours a month. Small shops aren't usually using recruiters I would think?

I’m planning on quitting my job but I am working out of town. I have a couple of interviews lined up in a different city but I am on the tail end of a large construction project which I am in the field managing. I feel like I’m having to babysit the project Monday-Saturday 7AM - 5PM. It’s becoming unbearable. How do I juggle interviewing when I am extremely busy on the jobsite and working in one of the most toxic environments I’ve ever been in. I don’t want to ruin relationships but I have to go

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?

I am a project engineer in the heavy civil field with a company in the top 15-20 in the US. I’m about to hit my my 2 year mark with the company and have my eoy review next week. We average 50hours a week for most of the year and worked 60+hours through the summer and fall working essentially every Saturday. For base salary what would be a good raise for 2022 with inflation & work load?
