I do like it now.

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

Another vote for Tiny Jewel on/near Connecticut Ave. You will not be able to get a PP or Rolex there without purchase history.
I don’t live there but just wanted to feel included

That Patek gatekeeper culture at ADs is nonsense when many of the pieces trade at a discount on the secondary market. Sure, if you want one of the sports models or complications you will pay over retail, but you can get Calatravas well below list. Go to a reputable grey dealer like Alan Furman and don’t look back.
DC here. Go to Tiny jewel box by DuPont. But good luck getting any PP or Rolex lol
Tiny jewel box is the place to go. Team there is the best in the area
Prob goes without saying…you won’t get a popular model by simply waltzing into any spot in or near the city. Gotta play the same game as any other city
Thanks all. I don’t really want to play the game. I want a nice watch that pleases me.
The brand, history and design of the watch all play into whether I like it - so id like to see some in person to decide which i like
I did end up going to tiny jewel but they had very few models to let me try on that I left a bit disappointed - but thank all for your input!!
Oh and based on reading online and looking at photos I had narrowed it down to PP, jaeger, blancpain or A langhe, but again I’d really need to see them on my wrist before I start narrowing down
