Depends on the requirements. Typically the entire unit is quite small (less than 500 employees in India).

Requirements are almost always instant which is why they don't wait for candidates. Dotdash's own notice period is 30 days as well so can't blame the org either.

I often wonder why companies enforce a 90-day notice period. It sometimes feels like a mechanism that locks employees in and leaves them feeling stuck. Perhaps the government should take action, but otherwise there seems to be little that can be done

This is primarily because of 3 reasons:

1. Finding a replacement in a large org may not be easy. That person has to start KT etc.

2. Company might want to retain a candidate. Those discussions take a long time in larger orgs.

3. Most people are overworked so finding an equally competitive replacement who can take up something which has been running for years or months without major differences is quite difficult

Hi fellow PMs, Question for the group: has anyone here made the switch from being a creative agency PM to a digital producer or digital agency PM? I.e. going from managing creative projects like TV to managing website builds/UX projects. If so, what was the transition like and what helped you get your bearings in the new environment? So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation. His reason was that I somehow betrayed his trust as he had promoted me just last year (after keeping the position open for 4 months and letting me take additional work load after the previous SM left!). Does this make any sense? I mean where does this sense of entitlement or ownership over the employees come from? No wonder the company in question is kind of facing a literal exodus!
