Hi there! What’s the best way for a Dreamer to get their citizenship? I’ve renewed my AB 540 multiple times and would like to get the ball rolling on my citizenship. The Biden Admin talked about providing a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers but because of the pandemic, they decided it wasn’t an important enough issue to discuss.

Dreamers have no direct pathway to citizenship under the current immigration law. You can only get citizenship if you qualify under other eligibilities.

I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. Alongside my bachelors degree I also have a masters degree in healthcare administration. Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. I am wondering what doors/opportunities I have if I were to utilize my masters degree?

Hi - I'm looking for a referral for a family member in the LA/Orange County. Relative is a permanent resident (has been for 10+ years) and looking to apply for citizenship. Relative had a juvenile record which was expunged ( I think it matters for citizenship). They had this record before they applied for their permanent residency. Now looking to an attorney with immigration & crim experience. Thank you!

Looking for insight on business immigration firms in LA. I worked as a judicial clerk/staff attorney at the immigration court and occasionally handles decisions involving employment-based immigration, non immigrant visas, and waivers. I’d like to get into business immigration and eventually advice and counsel for employers, so I’m wondering whether I should be looking into full service firms with L&E and immigration. Thanks!

So I just had a client tell me their asylum case is fabricated, and can't I help prepare the person for court. My initial reaction, fire the client. I'm not that kind of atty. But I hear so many talk about finding a balance and not turning ppl away bc ultimately they need a defense and who knows what will come up along the way. How would you handle? How do you find the balance btwn not turning clients away but not being unethical?

Hi - looking for direction: I’m about to file my citizenship application without a lawyer (after 5yrs of permanent residency). I filled out the N-400 form myself. At the end of the form it’s asking to upload any documents/evidence. How important is it uploading documents and what exactly is preferable to upload? (ex: foreign passport pgs, univ degree, employment verification?). It didn’t specifically require to upload copies. Would my case be denied if I don’t upload anything? Thx in advance

BAL and Fragomen associates, has their been any effort to push associate salaries up? If not, what is their excuse?

It seem like the two biggest immigration firms are severely lagging behind in compensation while other larger firms with immigration practices are pushing up comp.

Hi question: let’s say you have a client who kicked his ex gf’s leg rather than the door and left bruising. UK charge is assault by beating; is this considered “serious bodily harm” by UK standards ?

I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year.

My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

I work at a small immigration law firm and I feel like I’m committing fraud everyday.

Representing a client pro bono in a defensive asylum case scheduled for a merits hearing this week. Government has agreed to dismiss and we have fully signed and filed a joint motion to dismiss. Any chance the IJ denies our joint motion? I'm prepared for the hearing but curious if IJs still get credit for resolving the case in this scenario. Thanks!
