Hi! Totes new to this bowl. So I was in a career development program (which I finished) and everything was looking promising but had a racist manager, etc.. and things just weren't looking so hot. My team though was amazing so I stayed.. the company is great just that one incompetent bully of a manager.

How hard is it to level up in insurance when transitioning companies as someone in the industry who has less than 5 years of experience?

Ugh, I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. It’s amazing you still finished the program and held on for your team. That takes guts. Switching companies in insurance with under 5 years isn’t impossible, especially if you’ve built strong relationships and shown results. Have you thought about leaning into those wins and showcasing how you thrived even under bad leadership? That story can really set you apart.

That's a really great point. That manager tried to pit others against me and downplayed my wins here and there - some others didn't fall for it but some did. Those that have worked with me know my work ethic but those that might not have - it's slightly a hard narrative to change.

I think I'm going to lean into what you said anyways and focus on my individual interactions/rapport with a colleague rather than whatever might have been said or skewed by that manager.

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.
